The Senate delayed Todd Blanche’s confirmation because Republican Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis are throwing a giant paperwork tantrum.

Blanche already said under oath that the Anti-Weaponization Fund is dead.

Cornyn said that is not enough. He needs it written down too, probably in crayon with three gold stars and a note from his mom.

He also wants changes to Trump’s IRS settlement, so now everybody has to stop working while two Republican senators pretend they are the hall monitors of Washington.

Cornyn even canceled a meeting with Blanche and gave the Justice Department a dramatic deadline.

Wow. Very scary.

Trump suggested Cornyn might be mad because Trump backed his opponent in the Senate primary.

Cornyn denied it, which definitely means he is not mad at all and has never thought about it even once.

This is why Republicans annoy everyone. Trump picks a qualified guy, and instead of confirming him, two senators start waving papers around and yelling, “But what about my concerns?”

Nobody cares, guys.
